The footage was caught using the new water proof action camera that has been
donated by GoPro, the new GoPro
Wide
Hero is a massive improvement over it's little brother, the 5 Mega
Pixel shows more details than the 3MP of the Hero, as can be seen in the
footage above, the camera has a fish lens, which gives 170 degree view point
of our Atlantic 21, giving better coverage of the vessel and her crew.
The Atlantic 21 had a mini refit (stage 2) and is the first time she touched
the water after the refit - thus the looking back via the crew member on the
back left, he is checking the work carried out in the refit, the vessel was
taken out for over an hour for checks and weather handling on ruff sea's -
vessel was put through her paces and watch for the Lifeboat getting air
bourn in the footage.
The GoPro Wide Hero 5MP camera is mounted on the mast of the Atlantic 21, perfect
location to view the action, this is the very same location that is used by the
BBC in it's program 'Seaside Rescue' that follows the RNLI & HM Coastguard in
and around the south coast.
The camera will be used in the following years shouts and training.
